Question by Adam: World Air Superiority Aircraft?
Ok so it seems there is an air superiority arms race. Only recently this has come to light and manifested physically since confirmation of all models by various countries have been confirmed.

So who will suffer?

I think at the top of the List is Britain, being in the top 3 military powers they haven’t anything planned for air superiority.

China has a twin engined stealth Chengdu J-20, In production, Stealth, Impressive payload, speeds etc really stands up to the F-22

Sukhoi PAK FA again, very impressive stealth gen 5 aircraft.

It seems that Buying the F-35 is a mistake. It has stealth, no super cruise, max speed Mach 1.6.

It seems to me that if WWIII hit, they’d get slaughtered,

It seems they will be getting a very entry level aircraft, with no distinctive advantages.

Is Britain ever going to build an independent stealth aircraft themselves?

With the F-22 having stopped production and the EF typhoon standing less chance everyday, Air superiority it seems has shifted to the east

Whats going on!!!
MARK F: That’s exactly the problem! We don’t need any more Multi role fighters, United States Air Force Chief of Staff General Jumper said, “I have flown all the air force jets. None was as good as the Eurofighter.” and the fact it has super cruise unlike the F-35 and is carrier capable like the F-35 doesn’t justify buying it, the euro fighter isn’t to be decommissioned until around 2035. We like other nations e.g. China, Russia, US, India need to be developing a superiority fighter

The EF more than happily fills its boots, its faster, more agile, carries a higher payload, already has helmet mounted display, longer range stroke capabilities, less maintenance and £ for £ its a very very good aircraft.

There is not going to be a “world war”. China and Russia are regional powers and will remain so, there’s no reason for them to do otherwise.
