from Thailand to Australia by sea?

Question by ⊥ Bag: from Thailand to Australia by sea?
has anybody ever done it before, actually i am going to Thailand in a couple of weeks and i was just thinking about taking a cruise and i want to stay on a boat as long as i can and the longest route i can afford is from thailand to Australia, my main concern is that i hold a China passport and i don’t have a VISA to go to Australia, but i don’t care if i can get off the ship, i just want to be floating on the sea for a couple days, so will they let me on their ship if don’t have a VISA to Australia, how exactly can i make this happen
Thank you !

No you will not be allowed to board any vessel without a valid visa. If you board a ship in Thailand you must show a return ticket from your destination (Australia). At the end of any cruise you must leave the ship for it to be cleaned etc, even people who have back to back cruises (getting back on the same ship) have to depart at each final port. You will be denied boarding in Thailand without the correct visa’s.

No ship will let you on if you do not have a visa to enter Australia. Ships have immigration controls.

Check out the following websites

Sun Princess Cruise http://www.princess.com/learn/destinations/
Star Cruise http://www.starcruises.com/newweb/main.aspx

On your question on visa, you need to have visa of all the countries that the cruise will be going to regardless of whether you wish to get off the ship or not. For example if Australia is one the cruise’s destination, then you need to have Australian visa. This is because once the ship is in Australian water, everyone on board is considered to have arrive in Australia. If you do not have the Australian visa , you won’t even be allowed to board the ship from your first point which in your case from a port in Thailand eg. Phuket.

Check out the website of Star Cruise ( given above ). They have a ‘ cruise to nowhere ‘ trip from a Malaysian port but this is just a day cruise. Alternatively you may take a cruise from Phuket to Singapore and then return to Phuket. This would take about 3-4 days.

Yo Bag! – – surely it has been done before – – people have sailed around the world – – you got a boat? go for it – a couple of days – no way – – a couple of months maybe – – floating on the sea?? you will likely hit some pretty rough waters, and if the boat has any value, pirates might take you on – – but hey, a dream is a dream – – right?

sure, some dreams turn into nightmares – – you sound inexperienced, this might be better as just a dream.

keep on dreaming though, and find some that are more realistic – or make the necessary preparations and do this one.. it will not be easy.

Any Vaccines for a cruise to indonesia, thailand, then china?

Question by Katie 🙂: Any Vaccines for a cruise to indonesia, thailand, then china?
i’m 13 and we’re taking a cruise there this late spring and i was wondering do i need any vaccines for any of those places. If so, which ones hurt the most and where do u get them (arm or bum?) I’m a bit terrified of needles. I havent had any shots since kindergarten so I don’t know if that effects it.

Thanks!

Are there boats avalilable for transport to Thailand anywhere along the China coast?

Question by searcher_2005: Are there boats avalilable for transport to Thailand anywhere along the China coast?
I am looking for transport on a backpackers budget no expensive cruises please!
Ideally I want to head down from Macau or thereabouts around Vietnam and Cambodia to Thailand. If I have to head back up to anywhere up to tianjin that might be ok too.
Is there a boat that goes to Malaysia from the China Coast?

i’d have to look at a map but you should go by train from southern china or you’d be sailing on a cheap boat around malaysia.
