Question by Timmy T: Are parts of War of the Worlds(2005) based on an old world war 2 movie?
A friend of mine, in a video production class, told me that he read a book of movie scripts. In it he found the script to some old world war 2 movie. He said that scenes from war of the worlds were reproduced word for word from this movie. Like the scene where tom cruise and his family have the only working car and they leave the city while everyone behind them dies. Instead of aliens killing people it’s the japanese invading, possibly china or the phillipines, and killing everyone. There are other scenes that do this too, I can’t remember which, the only difference is that names and places are switched. Can anyone verify this? If this is true I’d like to know what movie is it?
